Councilmember
Jhoanna Jones joined the Richland City Council in January 2022. Jhoanna, her husband, Jeremy, and son Justus have lived in Richland for over 15 years.
Jhoanna began her financial career in the San Francisco Bay area and after moving to Richland, started her commercial mortgage firm, focusing on helping small Tri-City businesses unable to get funding through the local banking institutions.
Jhoanna obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Bellevue University in 2014 and her Master's Degree from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., in 2019.
Jhoanna volunteered and participated in many organizations such as the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Tri-Cities (class XXI), Tri-Cities Legislative Council, Benton Franklin Council of Governments, and the Red Cross. She has participated in the Small Business Saturday program and conducted small business seminars to educate the small business community in the Tri-City area.
In 2020, Jhoanna began working for the Federal Government, helping the government's relief effort assisting the small businesses hit hardest by the pandemic. Jhoanna assists small businesses and lenders with COVID-19 programs such as the Economic Injury Disaster Loan, the Paycheck Protection Program, the Restaurant Revitalization Fund, and now with the IRS as a Revenue Officer for the Small Business Unit.
